What you’ll do:

  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of a variety of foods in accordance with food and safety standards.
  • Washes, cuts, cooks and or re-heats food items, weighing and measuring ingredients, according to recipes and instructions.
  • Sets up serving lines and serves meal or meal components.
  • Communicates with students and school staff when serving food items.
  • Operates cash register, accepting money and making change for food and beverages served.
  • Cleans and sanitizes dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment and facilities in accordance with approved housekeeping and safety practices and guidelines; performs related kitchen and facility related duties (e.g., laundry, general cleaning).
  • Operates kitchen equipment.
  • Stocks and organizes food related items and kitchen supplies in refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, and store room; stores food and supplies in accordance with instructions and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
  • Follows approved housekeeping and safety practices to ensure that safe conditions are maintained in the kitchen, food-serving areas, and in dining area.

Compensation & Benefits:

Our package includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Starting hourly range is from $20-$24 an hour
    • Initial, starting salary dependent on years of experience, types of experiences, and demonstrated ability to drive outcomes for students.
    • Rate of salary increase based on performance
  • Payment of 100% of the employee’s personal medical benefit and options to elect dental, vision, critical illness and accident benefits.
  • Up to $600 contributed annually to a personal wellness account 
  • 7 days of PTO with the opportunity to increase by 1 day per year (up to 10 days total PTO) and access to annual PTO payout at a rate of $ 300/day for any unused days

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED Preferred
  • Previous institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred. 
  • Must complete orientation before school placement. 
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. 
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.  
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred (English/Spanish).
